After his Abitur in Aachen he moved to Cologne to start an apprenticeship at ad art medienproduktion, a small film production company with focus on images films, kids TV and comedy formats. There he worked in a variety of departments such as the camera- and postproduction department. After an internship at Pictorion Das Werk in Berlin he focused his work more on VFX, animation and color grading.
In 2007 Matthias began his studies at the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne with a focus on film directing and story development.
At the KHM he started working with Philipp Käßbohrer, Alex Rechberg, Julian Schleef, Robert Windisch, Andreas Fabritius and Jakob Beurle and founded a small production company the Bildundtonfabrik.de. The company is specialized on film, animation and postproduction and has recently completed projects for Columbia Records, City Slang, 1LIVE and WDR.
Together with David and Daniel, Matthias has specialized on animation of media facades and the previsualization thereof. A recent example for facade animation is the Sparda Bank headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany.
